I reached hot and humid Singapore on Monday morning and ate Wanton mee in the airport before coming home. The Perth trip was great and I really enjoyed myself there. I took 1000 + photos there and will post them up soon =)
Some things that happened during the week I went missing …
1) I received my degree in Perth
2) Got to know a guy named Kenny (Donald’s gf’s cousin) in Perth who brought us around. Great guy.
More on him and my trip next time.
3) I gained weight due to Kantang (potato) overload
4) I didn’t sweat at all in Perth despite walking under the sun most of the time. My feet hurt though.
My new cheapo boots are not made for walking …. long distances.
5) Realized that my new camera’s battery life is not that fantastic. Extra battery needed for long days.
6) My beloved Newcastle United lost a match, won 1 and lost again (yesterday). They are currently second in the table!!
7) I didn’t attend the Singapore Blog Awards due to my Perth convocation/holiday trip and as expected didn’t win.
Jasmine went with boyfriend to the event on my behalf and took lots of pics there. I will upload them once I manage to get the pics from her.Congratulations to all the winners, especially Ms Chor Lor who once gave me winning 4D numbers. =P (To see the winners click here)
8) Lucky I didn’t miss the Singapore Idol top 13 spectaculars as it was not shown last week.
Singapore Idol is on today though and I will definitely be watching it and rooting for my favourites, Mae Sta and Syltra Lee. Just found out that MJ Kwok is gone and cute 7 eleven girl Nurul replaced him.
9) Got someone to remove a dunno what insect hive outside my house.
For people like me who stay in HDB flats and have hives outside their houses, call your local Town Council for assistance. It’s fast and free =) Thank you Pest Control.
10) I went to Timbre @ Arts House for my sister and classmates after exams celebrations.
Went to Movida at St James after Timbre and saw lots of Ferraris along the way and outside the club. I didn’t bring my camera along, damn wasted sia. We used Wayne’s phone to take some pics as my iPhone cam sucks. Hope to get the pics from him soon. =)
Stuff I will be blogging about very soon …
1) A 7 part series about my Perth holiday! Lots of pics will be uploaded but do not expect to see 1000+ photos he he
I don’t think I will be blogging about my “Expert” Singapore Idol predictions anymore. Feeling a little lazy =P. I will be giving my predictions on my Facebook and Twitter instead. For those who want to see if I’m right or wrong and scold me for my wrong predictions, you can add me he he. Cheers.
(Warning - contains shameless pleas for your vote)
Okay, this is totally unexpected, I somehow managed to be one of the top ten finalist in this year’s Singapore Blog Awards under the “Best Individual Blog” category. Omy sent me an email with this subject - “Singapore Blog Awards 2009 Finalist – Best Individual Blog”. I opened the email and saw this ..Congratulations! You are one of the top ten finalists in the Best Individual Blog category in this year’s Singapore Blog Awards!
Your blog is shortlisted from over 1500 blogs submitted and will now go through the scoring and voting phase (See http://sgblogawards.omy.sg).
Wow, how is this possible? My bo liao blog has been shortlisted from over 1500 blogs! Lol, miracles do happen, I think it’s because my beloved team Newcastle United has just been relegated and they thought this would be the perfect gift to cheer me up. Maybe those really famous bloggers like Xiaxue, Mr Brown and Dawn Yang cannot join (or can they? But know they sure win and give others a chance) that’s why ha ha. Sorry ah, noob in finals so a little excited.Wow, first time seeing my name in the newspaper and its not the singer Wu Jia Hui. For bigger pic of the article click here. Too bad i don't have the hardcopy or not can frame.
It’s been around 6 months since I came back from my 3 years break from blogging and this is the perfect motivation for me to continue blogging like forever. =) Even if I don’t win (surely lah), it’s good to know that at least the judges appreciate my blogging and think that I’m fit (not physically, I still need to exercise and slim down after my exams!) enough to be in the top ten. As long as there is someone other than me reading my blog, I guess I will continue blogging. Actually, even if no one reads it I think I will blog he he. It’s like a diary right? Maybe one day I will tattoo my blog’s address (boliaosia.com) somewhere and if something happens to me (touchwood), my family members and friends could see the tattoo, go to the address and read about my life story if they haven’t already been reading it heh. My posts are usually happy posts though as I think I rather keep the sad thoughts to myself, which is a good thing right?? Then they can remember me for the happy times I had ha ha.
This was what I wrote in my comeback post 6 months ago ...
Hello .. Mr Wu is back! Been feeling pretty bo liao nowadays so I guess I will start blogging again. This time I will try my best to keep blogging for a long long time.
Been reading my past posts and found them to be really bo liao. So I have renamed my blog "Bo Liao Sia"... Hope you like it. Future posts will be bo liao as usual with maybe a little more substance (I hope). The blog now has a simpler layout (will improve the design later) for easy reading and I will add labels from this post onwards for easy referencing. Due to modern technology even lazy guys can get organized! Its been more than 2 years since I last touched my blog due to my very "busy" schedule. Have been watching lots of American, Japanese (not av) and Taiwanese dramas. Chen Shui Bien's case considered drama right? Also playing ps3, pc and iphone games. I guess in my future posts I can review some of the dramas I watched and games I played and maybe some other random reviews of other stuff I use. My life is pretty boring so I guess this blog will be full of bo liao lazy man's reviews. Lazy man review means it will be short reviews heh. For those who are lazy to read long reviews or maybe its because I'm lazy?
I guess I managed to honour my words then ha ha. Still blogging after 6 months! There are actually 5 sections in my blog now – my bo liao life, entertainment, news and articles, random videos and the recently (yesterday!) added iPhone section. Will make picture links to them at my sidebar soon.
Okay, enough of re-introducing my blog in an attempt to persuade first time visitors to come again (wink wink). Back to the Singapore Blog Awards!
I still can’t believe it ha ha. Of course I’m delighted with this top ten thingy. It’s like seeing my baby growing up and getting recognition =P I know it’s a miracle that I am in the list but if you want to see something more unbelievable, you can vote for me and contribute to the greatest underdog feat in history! The judges’ scores account for 70% of the score and the rest (30%) is based on your votes! All you have to do is register for an Omy account (free) and you can start voting! Oh yah, voters stand a chance to win prizes too!
Voters will stand to win a total of 5 Creative Vado (worth S$169) and 5 ST701 Portable External Hard Disk (250GB)!!
To assist you in your voting process, I will provide you with an idiot proof pictorial guide on how to vote!
Login to Omy or register for an account if you do not have one. Link at the top right hand corner of the page.
Step 3 ...
After logging in, click on the "Best Individual Blog" category on the left hand side. All the finalist will appear and you can choose who to vote for.
Step 4 ..
After voting, there will will a voted sign which tells you that you have voted. Remember you can only vote once a day for each category so click mine first if you plan to vote for me =P. Yes, I have voted and will continue voting once a day for myself too ha ha.
That's all folks! Voting commences today and will end on 31 July, 2359hrs SHARP.
Actually no need to vote for me la, but if you do, I got a feeling you will be luckier and have a higher chance to win the voters’ prizes. =P
Friends and family, loyal readers (if any) or someone passing by, let us work towards the success of Very Random Posts |Bo Liao Sia| (boliaosia.com), the blog of Sean Wu Jia hui. Yes we can (help me win the really nice prizes)!
I was randomly surfing around when I reached this site -> http://blog.omy.sg/sgblogawards Its the Omg Singapore Blog Awards site which showcases some of the blogs which have participated in the S'pore Blog Awards 2009 新加坡部落格大奖 II. Guess what ... I saw my blog featured in one of the posts titled "More Interesting Blogs!" (The pic below is not of my blog, sorry to disappoint you, mine is at the third pic he he)
Okay I lied ... actually I was not randomly surfing. I have been visiting that site ever since I entered the Omy Singapore Blog Awards shamelessly hoping that by a stroke of luck my blog will be in one of the post. I entered the "Best What-The-Hell" and "Best Individual Blog" category and thought that it would be cool that my blog would appear in one of the posts. So after I entered, I visit the site every day. First they showed the "Best Individual Blog - They have Joined" - don't see any boliaosia.com. Then they showed the "Best What-The-Hell Blog - They have joined" - no luck either. Then they had another "Best Individual Blog - They have joined" - nothing again ha ha. So I thought hopeless la, won't appear one la Sean. After a few posts with news related stuff and not featuring blogs which entered, I thought it was over. One of the posts was about bloggers posting subjective photos in bid to win the Singapore Blog Awards.
I saw that post and thought, wha they all have nice sexy pictures to post and I am some unfit fat ass guy how to compete ha ha. The girls in my first and second pic are hot! Even I won't think twice about visiting if I see the pictures. I thought my dream of my blog being in one of the posts, were just going to be just a dream until I saw yesterday's post =) Wooo Hoooo finally I'm there! It may not mean a lot to others, but for me it's a sense of achievement ha ha, maybe I will get some visits from that site too. So here is the screen shot of my blog, boliaosia.com aka Very Random Posts |Bo Liao Sia|....
Omy God! Seeing the Omy logo one of my post pics is such a nice feeling =) For those who have not joined the competition you can register or nominate a blog here. I think the registrations and nominations close this week, so hurry!
Oh my God! I'm so shameless that I left a comment on that page.
P.S: Watched Terminator Salvation today after some site picture taking visit with father (boss). Nice to see John Connar all grown up now. Yes, he did say "I'll be back" he he. Watched another great episode of fighting spiders too.... Finally, they are going to Johor Bahru!
I’m back!
