Guess what ... I saw my blog featured in one of the posts titled "More Interesting Blogs!" (The pic below is not of my blog, sorry to disappoint you, mine is at the third pic he he)
Okay I lied ... actually I was not randomly surfing. I have been visiting that site ever since I entered the Omy Singapore Blog Awards shamelessly hoping that by a stroke of luck my blog will be in one of the post. I entered the "Best What-The-Hell" and "Best Individual Blog" category and thought that it would be cool that my blog would appear in one of the posts. So after I entered, I visit the site every day. First they showed the "Best Individual Blog - They have Joined" - don't see any boliaosia.com. Then they showed the "Best What-The-Hell Blog - They have joined" - no luck either. Then they had another "Best Individual Blog - They have joined" - nothing again ha ha. So I thought hopeless la, won't appear one la Sean. After a few posts with news related stuff and not featuring blogs which entered, I thought it was over. One of the posts was about bloggers posting subjective photos in bid to win the Singapore Blog Awards.
I saw that post and thought, wha they all have nice sexy pictures to post and I am some unfit fat ass guy how to compete ha ha. The girls in my first and second pic are hot! Even I won't think twice about visiting if I see the pictures. I thought my dream of my blog being in one of the posts, were just going to be just a dream until I saw yesterday's post =) Wooo Hoooo finally I'm there! It may not mean a lot to others, but for me it's a sense of achievement ha ha, maybe I will get some visits from that site too. P.S: Watched Terminator Salvation today after some site picture taking visit with father (boss). Nice to see John Connar all grown up now. Yes, he did say "I'll be back" he he. Watched another great episode of fighting spiders too.... Finally, they are going to Johor Bahru!
Around 5 weeks and 5 episodes later, I'm still watching Fighting Spiders. What does that mean? It means that it's a great show! If it's not good I won't be eagerly waiting for the show to start every Tuesday. I think fighting Spiders is by far the best local channel 5 drama I have ever seen!
The only episode I missed was episode 4 last Tuesday due to some appointment and I was pretty sad about not being able to see it. I do not have a hubstation or any video recording device (even my old video tape recorder also spoil liao) :( , I might plan to get a hubstation in the future though when I start working. I think I really need it then as some of the timings of the shows I watch on tv might clash with work.
As first, I was disappointed at not being able to watch the episode (I tried searching it on Youtube last time but only could find episode 1 ... Buuuuutttt after someone responded to my forum post about episodes online and a mr or miss anonymous posted a comment on my previous Fighting Spiders Post about where I can find the episodes, I finally got to watch episode 4! Now its my turn to share with anyone reading this post on where you can find the episodes. There are two sources that I know of now.

I tried searching for episodes on youtube a while back but couldn't find any, but it seems like someone have uploaded the episodes on Youtube after all =) Here is the first three parts of the first episode specially for you ....

Kimberly Chia, who plays Yiling (the girl Soon Lee likes) uploads shown episodes on her Facebook! So nice of her to share the videos online. If you are a fan of hers you can also add her to your Facebook account. She has other videos of her in previous TV appearances.
You can also find the other casts of fighting Spiders on Facebook and there is even a Fighting Fighters Group on Facebook! Yesterday, I tried to add Andie Chen (Tony Lee), Ezann Lee (Annie Tan), Siona Wu-Murphy (Samantha aka Sam the Tomboy) and of course Kimberly Chia. All have accepted the friend request, so kind of them. =)
Quality wise, I find the videos on Kimberly Chia's Facebook better. You can view both sources and decide which you like better. =) For those who have not watched a single episode of Fighting Spiders or those who have missed an episode or two and want to catch up, go watch the online videos now! After watching, be sure to catch Fighting Spiders on Channel 5 every Tuesday at 8.30pm!!
Action, adventure, romance, comedy, this show has it all! It is also touching and shows you how Singapore in the 1960s is like! What other shows can you hear people saying Neh neh poks and ku ku birds? Seriously guys, for those who don't watch local english dramas you should try watching this. I have watched lots of ang moh and Japanese dramas and some Korean Dramas. I think Fighting Spiders has entertained me as much as my favorite foreign dramas. The local flavor also makes the show close to my heart. For those who have not watch Fighting Spiders, support local production also leh! =D Lets see if the 3 hum sup boys can find the legendary Rajah Labah Labah (King of Spiders) in Johor Baruh!! After watching so many commercials of Red Thread and Fighting Spiders on channel 5 I felt obligated to watch at least one of the shows he he. I decided to watch Fighting Spiders, which seemed like an interesting and funny show. Luckily I decided to watch Fighting Spiders sia. From what I have seen from the first episode, I think it will be a very good drama! Must support local production if its good .... Fighting Spiders I think will be worth watching. It might be the best channel 5 local drama, surely better than Masters of the Sea! What is Fighting Spiders About
Set in post 60’s Singapore, in rustic kampongs, and the colorful chaotic streets of Chinatown, FIGHTING SPIDERS is a coming of age, adventure, story of three boys – Soon Lee (Edwin Goh), Charlie (Liang Shijie Jason) and Peter (Frederick Fielding), whose friendship is tested when they go to Malaysia on a quest to find and return with the King Spider, so as to challenge their nemesis, and bully, Ah Huat.
Every episode follows an adventure of the boys in the world of flying kites, fighting fishes, fighting spiders, first love and crushes, teenage lusts, and rebellion.
We also follow the story of amateur boxer, 21 year old, Tony Lee (Andie Chen), the elder brother of Soon Lee, when he joins a Chinatown gang so he could support a sick mother. His integrity as a role model to his brother, and filial piety to his mother, is compromised when he’s forced to participate in brutal gang activities.
He falls in love with a beautiful cellist, Annie (Ezann Lee) but several twists of circumstance leads Tony to a beautiful prostitute, Susie (Rebecca Lim), who works in the red light Keong Saik Street in Chinatown.
Before i watched the first episode, I did not go to the Fighting Spiders website, so I did not know exactly what the show is about. I thought the small boy Soon Lee grows up to be the character played by Andie Chen and was wondering what happened to Soon Lee's friends, Charlie and Peter. Now I know that the character that Andie Chen is playing is Soon Lee's brother and the main characters are the 3 boys he he ... sorry I blur. But the Soon Lee really looks like his brother in the show, I thought its him!
Ahh so now I know, the main characters in the show are the 3 boys and the show is about their quest to get the best fighting spider hence the name "Fighting Spiders". I always thought that its because Soon Lee grew up to be a fighter that's why they the show is called Fighting Spiders lol. Anyways, since Soon Lee does not grow up to by Andie, we also have Andie's story to follow in the show. The quest for finding the ultimate fighting spider and the gangster and love life of Soon Lee's brother Andie will be interesting to follow. Since the show is set in the 1960s, there are no such things as computer games and kids then played games like hopscotch, five stones and of course fighting spiders. I remember when I was in primary school, I played play hopscotch and ermm five stones too. I also played with marbles, erasers and Tamiya cars and some other games lol. The marbles must got so many different kind, earsers I bought the whole box of "Country Erasers" to play with my friends, the loser must give the winner their eraser lol. My favorite eraser is of course the Singapore eraser lol.

1) Charlie and Soon Lee kenna bully by Ah Huat (who is actually charlie's cousin), then Peter who is an ang mo (yes they used that term in the show) come and rescue them with his slingshot. Peter whose father warned him not to befriend the local boys (he thinks they are bad influence), became friends with Charlie and Soon Lee
2) Soon Lee's family is very poor and his mother works very hard to support them. Soon Lee's brother Tony also helps with the finances by boxing and working as a coffee shop assistant. Soon Lee's mother worked so hard that she fell sick, but continued working after taking her medicine.3) Ah Huat brought his gang to take revenge on the 3 boys. Ah Huat took Soon Lee's fighting fish and warrior fighting spider and broke the slingshot which Peter gave Soon Lee. Ah huat use Soon Lee's warrior spider (who has won 10 fights) to fight with other small boys spiders. His stolen spider wins and he gets free money from the small boys.
4) Soon Lee likes the The medicine shop owner's daughter Yiling and is too shy to talk to her at first, asking Charlie to find out her name. He got braver later in the show and wanted to gave her a Ice Kachang Bomb thingy (pai seh dunno what is that called), but the Ice Kachang thingy melted in his hands when he was about to pass it to her and the it dripped to the medicine she was preparing. Yiling father was pissed and chased Soon Lee out of the shop.
5) The 3 boys saw a super hot kampung woman and followed her. Soon Lee and Peter managed to climb up a tree and could see the hot kampung woman taking out her clothes (I thnk to bathe). Charlie said one day he wants to see the kampung woman's neh neh! He was trying to get up the tree but could not. He ended up accidently pulling Peter and Soon Lee down the tree just when the Kampung Woman's neh neh pok is coming off! Wasted ha ha. Yes, they used the terms neh neh which stands for breasts in case you didn't know and neh neh pok (bra) lol. Power lah! Thats one of the reasons why I like this show =p They should have used that scene in the commercial lol.
6) Soon Lee's brother Tony, got bullied by a rich tai tai in the coffee shop. He eventually got so angry with rich people he joined a Chinatown gang.
7) Soon Lee made a $100 bet with Ah Huat that he can find another spider that can beat the warrior spider Ah Huat stole from him. A satay man at a pasar malam tells the 3 boys that in Johor Bahru there is a king of spiders that is very powerful and can easily beat the warrior spider Ah Huat stole from Soon Lee. So the 3 boys decided to go on an adventure to find the ultimate Fighting Spider!
Okay, thats all I can remember. Can't wait to see how the boys get the Raja Labah Labah (King of Spiders)!! Tony's story with the Chinatown gang and the love triangle between him, a high class girl and a prostitute seems interesting too. People reading this post ... remember to watch Fighting Spiders next week! If you have HD5, watch it on that channel instead! The show is available in HD, super clear without the top and bottom black bars!! When is channel 8 switching to HD sia, it would be nice if future channel 8 dramas are in HD format. Support Local if local is good!
