I think the online registration for the event is closed but my friend mentioned that there are slots available for walk-in shavees. I did a little google research and found out some information for interested shavees who missed the opportunity to register online.
1. When and Where?
5th July 2009 (Sunday) at Velocity @Novena Square, 12pm – 7pm
238 Thomson Road Novena Square (S) 307683 (opposite Revenue House)
BY MRT
Velocity is located directly above Novena MRT station along the North South Line.
BY BUS
Bus Services: 21, 54, 56, 124, 131, 143, 162, 166, 851, 980
4. How many slots available for walk-in shavees this year?
We highly encourage people to sign up online but understanding that there are cases wherein the registration cap has been reached and there are still a few people who wants to shave, we target to allow around 100 walk-in shavees depending on slots available on that day.
5. What time can the walk-in shavees go on event day?
Walk-in shavees can arrive around 1pm to queue up for registration and make a donation of minimum amount of $30 to CCF.
6. Why must I pay?
Because we do not want people to take advantage of this shaving event as getting a free haircut (as encountered in past years) we have set a minimum donation for the walk-in shavees.
7. Is there any age limit for shaving?
Yes. Shavees must be at least 5 years old. For shavees below 18 years old, we will require you to obtain parents’ consent for shaving and collection of donation with the pledge card. Please read the Terms & Conditions Page.
12. Can I request for a shorter haircut instead of an entirely shaved head?
No. Hair for Hope is about going bald in solidarity of children with cancer who typically lose all of their hair during chemotherapy.
13. Registration has closed / All slots have been taken up. What do I do now? (UNREGISTERED SHAVEES)
Interested shavees have 2 Options
1. Walk-in on actual day
Subject to available slots
Make a minimum donation of $30/- to participate as walk-in
2. Shave at Hair for Hope 2009 Official Hairstylist
8 Official participating salons
From 6 July to 12 July 2009, and strictly by appointment only.
Make a minimum donation of $30/- and collect shaving form at CCF Community Office @ 298 Tiong Bahru Road, #03-05 Central Plaza Singapore 168730.
14. How are funds raised during Hair for Hope?
As a shavee of Hair for Hope, you can opt for a pledge card or encourage donations via the online pledge portal, which you may use to collect donation from your friends and relatives in support of your sacrifice.
You can also get your office/school/club to participate as an organization. Please click here or you may contact us at 6593 6471 or e-mail hfh2009@ccf.org.sg
15. How much of the funds raised actually go to helping the children with cancer?
About 90% of the funds raised are channelled back to our beneficiaries in the form of our programmes and services. Some of which are: Financial Assistance, Casework and Counselling, Therapeutic Play, Childhood Cancer Transplant Programme, Caregivers' Support Programme, Educational Talks and Workshops, Social and Recreation Programmes, Training and Research amongst others.

Here are thoughts from 2 shavees who made the cut, Charles and Rebecca Chou.
We know some commented it is a courageous thing for us to shave, however we have a different perspective on this =>If you have the heart and courage like my friends and the other shavees, and are willing to shave for charity too, participate at this great event on 5th July 2009 (this Sunday!) at Velocity @Novena Square!!! Or go to any of the participating salons from 6 July to 12 July.
A child going through chemotherapy, can't prevent the hair lost and when these children learn to accept, face and carry on with life when they are facing a situation they can't control that required courage ! Thus to us the children and their family have TRUE COURAGE !
We did get some 'curious' stares from colleagues, friends and strangers . This have created great opportunities for us to share about the good work in CCF and raise awareness of childhood cancer in Singapore.' - Charles & Rebecca Chou
Remember, its Sunday, 5th July at Velocity (Novena Square) from 12pm to 7pm. Only 100 walk-in slots available, so try to be there early!
Be part of the Support for Children with cancer and their families!!
P.S: This event is in Singapore.
